Today is my eldest son Reef’s 5th birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY REEF!
To celebrate we’re having a birthday party at our Village Hall with around forty of his friends and Reef wanted the theme to be on Super Heroes.
For the invites I did these two characters who are Reef and his three year old brother Sol’s alter egos.
Reef’s character is on an aquatic slant to reflect his name and when asked Sol wanted to be a fire monster which is kind of apt.
I’ve always worked with Freehand and recently I’ve started to learn Illustrator and this is the first thing I’ve done using it.
I’m not going to get into the which application is best thing but it’s left me praising Illustrators good points as well as cursing it’s flaws.
