Happy Tapper Buttons

Friday, November 27th, 2009

HappyTapperBacker(Blog)After unpacking some boxes in my work room I came across some buttons that I’d designed for Carla White who runs Happy Tapper who in turn create some really good app’s for the iPhone.

These were for a promotion for the release of her new app Vision Board and as I remember were intended for the Oprah Winfrey Show. She’s and advocate of the Gratitude Journal which is one of Happy Tappers other app’s which has had great success on the iTunes App Store.

I created some of the graphics for these app’s which you can see on the buttons and I also did the backer card.

Heidi

This is a picture of Heidi the daughter of our good friends Lee and Jo who is sporting one of the buttons on her sling she had to wear after she got injured doing the Electric Boogaloo with her Dad.

Thankfully both father and daughter are now fully recovered and intend to be back on the Boogaloo circuit soon.

Pandemia Wallpaper

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

To add on to my previous post “Ride A Panda To Work Week” I can bow show the project I was working on, a desktop wallpaper called “Pandemia”.

It’s a wallpaper I made for my desktop from an illustration that ended up becoming a bit of a personal project.

It’s my tongue in cheek slant on the global hype and paranoia surrounding the fear of global pandemics.

At the moment I’ve managed to place a 1920×1200 version to download here but I’m going to try and add a few more sizes when I get the chance.

Below are a few snippets:)

Old, Old, Old School Sticker Art

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

I can’t imagine how this could interest anyone apart for myself and maybe my Mum but I thought I’d share anyhow.

Here in the UK it’s the school summer holidays so I quite often have a little company when I’m working.

My five year old son Reef who tells me he wants to design stuff like his Dad likes to sit and draw on the desk beside my own. He loves to use my old elipse and circle guides that I got when I first went to collage at the age of eighteen.

Back then it was pre Mac so we used these things quite a lot and before we started college we had to label all of our kit with our names.

Being into the graff scene at the time I chose to make my labels like the sticker tags that I used to grace the center of Sheffield with. On taking a closer look I saw that on my Linex elipse guide one of the fellas had survived to this day.

This sticker must be about twenty one years old now and considering the amount of use the guide had it’s survived the rigors of time pretty well.

I so remember labeling all of my kit at the time as Linex elipse guides when new had a really strong smell of baby sick.

I’m glad to say that this has now faded, although my memory of it hasn’t.

keypals.jpg

To add to the “On My Desk” list I turned up these things called KeyPals.

They followed on from another product I designed called ZipperPals which I hear sell in their millions around the world.

They’re basically a kind of personalised key ring and I remember at the time I had great fun working the clip which I designed from scratch.

I found these little fella’s a few days ago while tidying my desk and I thought I’d share.

I designed them as part of a range of little personalised stud/badges that are meant to pop in to the holes on Croc™ style shoes and are about 18mm in diamiter and are called Shoe Pals as I remember.
I quite like the way the little Lucha Libre and Racer guys turned out.

As you can see my desk sports a healthy, well manicured lawn of which I am very proud.
